The New Orleans Funeral is becoming increasingly popular. It respects the passing of a loved one but also focuses on celebrating the wonderful life of the deceased. For friends and family, it can lift spirits and help make a time of sadness a more spiritually uplifting occasion.
The Hot Tamale Brass Band includes trumpet, trombone, saxophone, tuba and drums. We perform New Orleans spirituals and dirges during the funeral. After the funeral we play more upbeat dixieland and funky second line music in celebration of the great life of a loved one.
We have the experience and professionalism that you seek. Our bandleader Mickey Bones, lived in New Orleans, playing with brass bands at jazz funerals and he knows how to do it right both In New Orleans and in New England. The band has been together since 1992 and all members are outstanding musicians.
